My Missionary Scripture D&C 68:6

Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the Living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come.

It's A DOOZIE!!!

Hey EVERYONE!!!

Yep, it's true - I broke my right foot on the 3rd day at the MTC!!  My district was given a Stress Management activity where the instructor had us run up 5 levels of stairs, down the long hall, and down the 5 levels of stairs into our classroom.  I made it 5 floors up the stairs across the long hall and fell just before I was to go down the other 5 levels of stairs!! I heard a horrible crunch as my body fell to the ground!!  Instantly I felt excruciating pain and my foot began to swell - it was so crazy!!  My sweet companions (5 sister's in my district) came to my rescue carrying me down 5 flights of stairs while teaching me the Plan of Salvation!!!   HaHaHa - I love them so much!!! I instructor felt really bad about my accident and tried to help me too!!  Then the Elders in my district gave me a blessing of comfort and healing - It was so AMAZING - Instantly I felt at peace!!! Most the the Elders had only given a blessing maybe once in their life - But the words of peace and healing flowed as though they had blessed many people in need of comfort and healing before!!!  I am so thankful for Priesthood blessings and for the Sweet Sister's that were my guardian angel's that day!!

In the following weeks of my MTC training these sweet sister's carried me up and down the stairs every day and night (many many times) while the Elder's carried my scooter and stuff, ran for ice to help with the swelling, and gave me more blessings as needed!!  Needless to say my burden was lifted and it was humbling to have so much help from people that I had barely met a few days prior - they were all eager to serve me and to lift my spirits which has helped me heal - the MTC doctor's were very impressed with my healing progress and have also been a great help to me!!  I can't express the gratitude I feel in my heart for all of those that helped me through this tough experience!!  Never did I think I would have to come home so soon!!

My parent's came to pick me up at the MTC Sunday evening after General Conference.  I was able to say goodbye to all the great people and my AWESOME district before heading for home.  Then I was given an honorable medical release as a full time missionary by President Welch.  With the great  hope that I would be able to heal quickly so that I can be set-apart once again as a full time sister missionary.  President Marston is holding my place in the Roseville California Mission so that when I get the OK from my doctors I can return to my missionary service!!! I just can't wait to serve the Lord in the mission field - I have loved every minute of my missionary service!!!
My testimony of the Savior has grown so much through this experience!!  I feel closer to Him as never before - When I think of Him and all He has done for me my heart is so full of love and appreciation for all that He has given me!!  Words just can't express what I know and feel!!

I went to the doctor today - Dr. Woollsey  - He looked at my foot and evaluated some new x-rays and has determined that my foot is healing just great!!  He told me that this kind of break is the best kind for the foot - as long as my ligaments heal properly and if all goes well I can expect to be back into my missionary shoes by the second week in May!!!  He said surgery is very unlikely - I just need to stay off my foot for the next week - then next week I can begin to take baby steps - I will also be given some exercises to help strengthen my ankle so that it can bear weight on my foot in the coming weeks!!!  BEST NEWS EVER!!!!

SOOOO!! I get to hang out with my family for the next few weeks - Take advantage of the extra studying time I have - roll play the Preach My Gospel lessons with Jackie - and hug my puppy!!!  My new best friends are my scooter, crutches, and my lovely boot!!  All of which I look forward to losing in the next few weeks!!  I also look forward to going to the temple, spending time with my AMAZING grandparents and extended family & visiting with my AWESOME friends!!!

Thanks for all your prayers and support!!!  I know that things could have been much worse but it has been through the love, service, and many prayers of those around me and all of you SPECIAL people I call FAMILY & FRIENDS that I have been able to keep a positive outlook on my life right now. My faith in Jesus Christ and our gospel teachings coupled with my testimony have made it much easier to leave the MTC, to accept an official medical release as a missionary, and to return home until I can heal and receive the strength in my foot to do the Lord's work!!  It was SO hard to leave my companion Sister Cowden, my AWESOME district, but even harder - to remove my missionary tag and hand it to  President Welch (which he gave back to me until it am set apart again)!!  I know that things happen for a reason and I know that Heavenly Father gives us growing opportunities to help us - I trust that everything will work out just the way Heavenly Father and Jesus want it to be!!  I feel blessed for the experience and growth I received in the MTC and look forward to hitting the ground running as a Sister Missionary ~ when I can finally be serving in the California Roseville Mission!!!

I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

Soon to be a full time SISTER HOOD missionary once again!!
