My Missionary Scripture D&C 68:6

Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the Living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come.

GONNA WRECK IT!!

Welp! I'm headed to my last area! I will be in the Redding 5th and YSA! So that means I will cover the whole Redding stake! So I will be able to visit some family for dinners and stuff! 😁 that's super cool that I can do that! Major tender mercy of the Lord! He's been waaayyy too good to me! Especially recently. I'm excited to go up there! My companion is Sister Dee. I have met her a couple times and she's super nice! I just don't know much about her! So that will be fun to get to know her. 😁

It has been so amazing training Sister Whitesell! Oh my goodness, I can't even tell you how close we have gotten! Man, we have had some AMAZING things happen these past couple transfers. I have learned so much from her. She's incredible and will definitely LIGHT CHICO UP!!! I'm so excited to let her lose and go to town! Ah! She's just like her mama that way (I'm her Mom- Mission Family Tree - Ha!!). πŸ˜πŸ˜‰

I don't even understand where all this time goes.. it blows my mind...it seems like just yesterday I was getting to Chico! Oh my goodness... it's nuts!! Now I only have 3 months left and I have several freak outs everyday just thinking about that! It just makes me wanna push harder and thrust in my sickle and make sure I get everything done Heavenly Father needs me to! So that's how it's gonna be in Redding! Gonna wreck it! 😁

Welp, my last week in Chico was quite the week! It started out AWESOME! Then, it just kinda turned into weirdness.. so first, we had our adventures with Linda! We took out walls and prepped for painting we were up on the roof sweating buckets! That's one of the dirtiest days of my life.. not even exaggerating! Haha. It was gross.. my skin was also torn up from carrying shingles to the edge and throwing them off. Haha. My pathetic soft skin needs to toughen up! πŸ˜‚ always an adventure!

Our first new 'gator we met at Thelma's. She literally fell into our lap.. haha. We were about to leave and Debbie walked in. She was super nice and talked to us for a minute. She remembered me but I have no idea how.... haha! (This happened like 5 times where people knew my name but I didn't have the faintest idea who they were... it was weird because that doesn't happen often!) I realized as she talked to us that the was someone Heavenly Father put in our path! So I jumped on it!!! I told her we would love to visit with her sometime. She said she lives day by day. But I couldn't just lay down and die with the first rejection... so I said that we would love for her to join in on the lesson next week with Thelma and Vivian. Eventually, after much stubbornness and persistence, she accepted! HAH!!! πŸ˜‚ it was funny... I wasn't too pushy though. Just enough to make it happen! Sister Whitesell thought it was hilarious. πŸ˜‚ I just really wanted her to meet with us.

We had a cool experience! We were driving to Durham and we didn't really feel like there was anyone there to find.. then I remembered there was this tiny town called Butte City literally in Nam! I had been told that but I didn't realize it was as far as it really was! We drove in the middle of nowhere for like a half hour... then finally we got there! The population is 250..... we could have tracted the whole thing in a day. Haha! 😳 We only had like 20 minutes at this point because we had an appointment in Durham. So we prayed that Heavenly Father would make this worth our time. So we started tracting and didn't have any luck for 3 houses, came to the fourth and Rachel answered but she wasn't super interested. As we were about to walk back to the car, I looked over and saw the last house on the street. When I just randomly look over and my eyes lock on a house, I know that's the spirit telling me to go get it... so. We went and got it! Haha.

We knocked and a guy named Nick came out and started talking to us and was unusually friendly... not creepy, just super friendly! It was actually quite refreshing to talk to him! He told us about his life and his hardships. He should have died 5 times, he went through a windshield because of head-on collision... he said he knows God has a plan for him and is watching out for him. We got talking about our missions and he asked what makes our church different. So we gave him the restoration pamphlet and said we would be back next week. It's cool because he is actually from Colusa but was visiting his friend that lives there. It was just super cool to see that Heavenly Father is always preparing people to be in the right place at the right time! We were in the right place at the right time and he was too! It's amazing to see that He just makes our paths cross! We were very blessed!

So, update on Mariah since we FINALLY met with her again! Well.... things have changed. She told us that she still really wanted to be baptized but she and Will aren't going to get married because it wouldn't make sense since there's no love there.. she's also 11 weeks prego.. SURPRISE!! 😬 so she will be getting baptized 2018. She said after the baby is born, she has to find a place to move into.. so that will be interesting! Keep her in your prayers.... Pam is still going strong! I just love her so much! I'm so sad to be leaving her! She didn't come to church though because she was sick.. πŸ˜• we had a really good lesson about the Book of Mormon though! It was cool. We also gave her a picture from her baptism and a journal to record her thoughts and feelings. She loved it! 😁 It was nuts... so we TOTALLY spaced our lesson for Gospel Principles.. *Face palm* we realized at the end of sacrament meeting!πŸ˜‚ we are the worst! But I thought about it and thought we would be okay because Robbie left, Diane left and no one else was there who really needed it. But then! 3 people come up to us and let us know there are 2 girls in there waiting for us... 😳😬 AHH!!

So we pulled something out of thin air, thanks to the spirit!! We talked about Heavenly Father. Members commented a lot and made it a great discussion! It was probably one of the best lessons we have taught! All by the spirit. Not to mention, our comp unity was ON POINT! 😁 we were also VERY blessed that Heavenly Father recognizes our faith with setting goals! For Sacrament attendance we set it for 4. And even though we only usually have 2, if that. We had 4 make it!! Ahh!! It was just super cool to see that little thing help us. I just love Him!

Welp! I think that's all for this week... much better than last weeks! Haha... thanks for everything! Love you guys!

Love,

Sister Hood!
