That's cool about the ward thing! It will be a blessing for sure! Ya know, I'm not too excited to come home BUT I know the Lord is aware of me and of my situation... So it was be a positive experience! I know there is a reason! Just haven't quite figured it out yet! I'm excited to see ya'll though! It will be nice to be back in the real world again but I would obviously rather be here teaching the gospel! Of course there are hard times but my district has literally carried me through those hard times. It's only because of them and the Savior that I'm able to stay positive about all that's going on. Thank you for all your prayers. They have really helped a lot!
So!! This week was great!! That package was bomb!! Thanks so much!! Sister Cowden was so touched that you wrote her a letter and got her a necklace. All my other "companions" were like "hey... I want one..." Haha. But I just gave them candy and they were content! :D But on Saturday, we decided to do an Easter egg hunt with some eggs Sister Brindley's mom sent her along with the Resurrection story eggs! It was great!! I'll have to show you all the video! It was priceless! The Elders went nuts and were super excited! They're such weirdo's! I thoroughly enjoy it! So that was that. Then on Easter, M. Russell Ballard spoke at our devotional! IT. WAS. AMAZZINNNGGG!!! :D Super cool! I have way too many experiences to tell in this email! But last week at the temple, we met this lady. She is our adopted grandma! I don't remember if I told ya'll this story but oh well... So we were walking up to the temple and she pulls up beside us and asked us if we would do some family names. So long story short, we met her again this week with Elders this time. She bought us all lunch at the temple cafeteria. Her husband was there this time too so he was talking to the Elders and stuff and they are just adorable! She gave us her email and told us she expects to hear from us! She's super nice! It was cool going to the temple today. I really enjoy it! The temple is amazing! There are so many things you can learn. I learn things every time I go back. And it was really cool to have our whole district there this time. We're really like a little family!!
So we taught a girl this week. Her name is Taylor. Our last lesson was AMAZING!! So what we felt prompted to do with her is just do a Book of Mormon read with her, similar to what we do in class sometimes. So we focused on Alma 26 which talks about boasting in God and how merciful and mindful He is of each and every one of us. So kind of how it happened was we would take turns reading a verse and ponder on it for a few seconds then comment on it. We asked her deep, soul searching questions that really brought the spirit in. As it went on the spirit just kept building in the room and at the end, we asked her it she would follow Christ's example and be baptized. She sat there for a minute in silence, then said that she wanted to continue to learn but that she would start preparing for it now!!! Sister Cowden and I were so stoked!!! It was great! That just reinforced, for me, that to Book of Mormon, along with the spirit, is THE MOST powerful resource in our conversion. So that was just the beginning for Taylor. But it really boosted my testimony of the Book of Mormon. I've always felt the power that comes from reading its words but never quite like that! It was B.O.M!... HAH!! Punny!!!
Anyway, I'm super excited to see you all again! I can't wait to snuggle with Gussy and little Bear. :) Have a fantastic week! See ya soon!
All my love,
Sister Hood
